Climbing Plants That Bring the Drama

Some plants sit pretty. Climbing plants make an entrance.

They twist, trail, bloom, and turn fences, trellises, arbors, patios, and porches into full-on garden moments. If your space needs height, color, or a little main character energy, climbers are the move.

At Richfield Farms, a few of our favorites are hibiscus, climbing roses, Jackman clematis, and mandevilla.

Hibiscus

Big blooms. Bright colors. Total tropical energy.

Hibiscus brings vacation vibes to sunny patios and garden beds. While it’s not always a true vine, it can be trained upward with the right support. Give it plenty of sun, consistent water, and room to show off.

Jackman Clematis

This one is a purple powerhouse.

Jackman clematis covers trellises, mailboxes, fences, and arbors with rich, bold blooms. It likes sunshine on its vines and cooler roots, so mulch around the base or plant something low nearby to keep it happy.

Climbing Roses

Romantic, classic, and ridiculously pretty.

Climbing roses are perfect for arbors, fences, and trellises. They love full sun, good airflow, and a little guidance as they grow. Tie them gently to their support and let the magic happen.

Mandevilla

The patio superstar.

Mandevilla brings glossy leaves, bright trumpet-shaped flowers, and major summer color. It loves warmth, sunshine, and a trellis to climb. Pop it in a container and let it turn your porch or patio into a tropical little escape.
